The 1st through 6th graders at LaHarpe Elementary participated in the annual American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart Jump a Thon on Friday, February 15, 2008. The students collected $6110. 161 students participated, jumping for almost three hours. This year's incentive to raise money was the chance to throw whipped cream at Channel 7's sportscaster, Tyler Fulgham. Any student who raised over $100 had the chance to toss whip cream at an adult. Tyler was willing and gracious enough to help us out for such a worthwhile cause. There were 18 students who raised over $100. First grader Trinity Burton was the top collector with a grand total of $200 collected.
We greatly appreciate the community, friends, family and parents, for helping out our event with generous contributions. Without you, we would not be able to help out the American Heart Association.
