Meet Mrs. Myers

Hello there,
I'd like to take a few minutes to introduce myself. 2008-2009 will be my 29th year of teaching in the La Harpe school system. I student taught in 5th grade and continued to teach 5th for 16 years. This will be my 13th year teaching 3rd graders. I grew up in Roseville and lived with a family of teachers. My mom taught Jr.Hi and High School, my dad was a teacher and later an administrator, and my brother currently teaches and coaches at WIU.
Presently, I live in La Harpe with my husband and our daughter who will be a high school senior. We have a son who lives and works in Galesburg. We also have a Foreign Exchange Student daughter who is now back home in Germany.
I have a variety of interests besides teaching. I enjoy photography, golfing, reading, swimming, the Green Bay Packers, and St. Louis Cardinals. We raise Paint Horses and have four Golden Retrievers named Samson, Max, Sandi, and Lucy. We have foals and litters of puppies every year.
In our timber and pond, we enjoy hunting, 4-wheeling, fishing, and swimming. Our summers are busy baling hay and growing corn and oats for the horses.
