BOARD OF EDUCATION LA HARPE CSD#347 January 20, 2008
The Board of Education of La Harpe Community School District #347 held a regular meeting January 20, 2008 in the school district library. President Dan Horton called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Roll Call answered by: Dan Horton, Ricky Johnson, Deanna Stambaugh, Cindy Wear, Rex Huston, and Mark Irish. Pam Campbell was absent.
Also present: Jo Campbell, Jeanne Clayton, and visitors Arlynn Hitz and Joyce Crim.
A motion was made by Irish with second by Johnson to approve the minutes from the open and closed sessions of December 16, 2008 regular meeting of LCSD #347. Roll Call: Johnson, yes; Stambaugh, yes; Wear, yes; Horton, yes; Irish, yes; Huston, yes; Campbell, absent. Motion carried.
Supt. Campbell gave the Financial Report.
A motion was made by Johnson with second by Horton to approve the financial report and payment of bills. Roll Call: Huston, yes; Horton, yes; Stambaugh, yes; Johnson, yes; Wear, yes; Campbell, absent; Irish, yes . Motion carried.

Board Committee Reports:
Facilities Committee: Discussion was heard on the following items--the old building boiler, work to be done on the west wall of the addition and the weight rooms, the Corry property, a recent water leak, and when preliminary ideas from the architect would be available.
No other committee reports given.
Superintendent's Report was given including legislative updates.
The Principal's report was given.
Business Items:
A motion was made by Stambaugh with second by Irish to approve the renewal of a junior high athletic cooperative agreement with Dallas ESD #327 for the school years 2010 and 2011. Roll Call: Horton, yes, Wear, yes; Huston, yes; Johnson, yes; Stambaugh, yes; Irish, yes; Campbell, absent. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Irish with second by Johnson to approve the resolution for purchase of the property located at 309 West Archer, La Harpe, IL. Roll Call: Irish, yes; Campbell, absent; Wear, yes; Stambaugh, yes; Johnson, yes, Huston, yes; Horton, yes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Johnson with second by Huston to obtain bids for 71, 65, 29, and 21 passenger buses. Voice Vote: All ayes. Motion carried.
