Behavior Plan and Missing Work

Dear Parents,

I'd like to explain how late/incomplete assignments will work in my 4th grade classroom as well as some other procedures.

Homework is due by 8:15 a.m. If an assignment is not turned in by that time 10 points will be deducted from the grade the student earns. Students are reminded FIRST THING EVERY morning to turn in their work and to check in their bags, desks, and folders. If the assignment is not turned in by 8:15 the following school day another 10 points (20 total) will be taken off and if by the third day I don't have the work, another 10 points (30 total) will be taken off. after three days, the paper will get a 0%.

I expect students to write in cursive unless told otherwise. Spelling is an exception. They may print.

We are using chances as a reward system as well as behavior journals. Students are to write the date every day in their behavior journal. The goal is to write NOTHING but the date! That means they have had a great day. If they are writing more than the date in these journals, they have had misbehaviors that warrant writing.
