LaHarpe Kindergarten and Pre-school Screening
2010-2011 Kindergarten Registration and Pre-school Screening for all 3, 4 and 5 year olds in the LaHarpe School District will be held at the LaHarpe Christian Church on Friday, February 26. Appointments will be taken from 9:00am – 6:00pm. Children will be screened for vision, hearing and general development. Those children planning to attend kindergarten next year must attend screening and will need to bring a copy of their birth certificate. This should be a copy that we keep for our school files. A child must be 5 years old on or before
September 1, 2010 to enroll.
All 3 and 4 year olds, not age eligible for kindergarten, will be screened for possible placement in LaHarpe’s Pre-school program.
LaHarpe’s Pre-School program has limited enrollment. All students must be screened before selections are made based on criteria for entrance into the program. Children ages birth to 3 will be screened by Early Beginnings. Child development specialists will evaluate your child using a developmental checklist. The Early Beginnings Program offers child developmental education and parenting assistance to families in McDonough and Hancock counties and is administered through the Regional Office of Education.
