5&6 Grade Boys Basketball
The Dallas City/LaHarpe 5th and 6th grade boys basketball teams opened their seasons this past week with two games each. On Tuesday, January 3rd, the bulldogs played host to Warsaw. The 5th grade squad took the court first and fell in their contest by the score of 40-14. Weston Pollock led DC/LH with 12 points, while Brock Richardson tallied 2. The 6th grade game was next and the Bulldog 6th graders opened with an impressive 49-10 victory. Brandon Buttz, Jackson Porter, and Austin Torrence tallied 13 points apiece to pace the team in the win. Parker Yard added 6 points, while Cory Squier scored 4 in the contest.
On Thursday, January 5th, the Bulldogs hosted West Central. The 5th graders opened up action and recorded their first win of the year, winning by the score of 22-19. Weston Pollock again paced DC/LH with 11 points. Brock Richardson tallied 4 points. Nick Vorhies reached the scoring column with 3 points, while Michael Steegle and Dylan Maloney scored 2 points each in the win. In the 6th grade contest, the Bulldogs came out and bombarded the Heat squad by the score of 47-2. Jackson Porter led the way with 20 points. Cory Squier also reached double figures, scoring 10. Austin Torrence and Parker Yard scored 6 points apiece, with Brandon Buttz adding 5 points in the victory.
