As you may recall, on January 1, 2010 a law called "Vehicular Phone Use in School Zones" was passed. It states that "A person, regardless of age, may not use a wireless telephone at any time while operating a motor vehicle on a roadway in a school speed zone." In an effort to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety, as well as, educate and remind motorists that they must not use their cell phones while in a school speed zone, “Cell Phone Use Prohibited” signs have been placed in school speed zones. By adhering to the signs and the law our county will be a much safer place to live, learn, work and play.
