CROSSING GUARD POSITION
PART-TIME – 1 Hour Per Day | $17.46 PER HOUR – No Benefits | 7:15-8:15 A.M.
Monday through Friday ONLY on Student Attendance Days
La Harpe Elementary School is accepting applications for a part-time Crossing Guard.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Crossing Guard is responsible for helping students safely cross the street as they arrive at school.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct students safely across the designated street.
- Monitor traffic and identify safe opportunities for students to cross.
- Use appropriate hand signals and any provided safety equipment.
- Remain alert and attentive while on duty.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or concerns to school administration.
- Maintain dependable and punctual attendance.
- Communicate respectfully with students, families, staff, and motorists.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- The position requires standing for the duration of the assigned shift and maintaining awareness of students and traffic.
- Employment is subject to all applicable district requirements.
- Mandatory Comprehensive Background Screening - Per IL School Code, all offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of the following state mandated background screenings.
- Faith’s Law Background Screening
- Criminal History Check
- Statutory Verifications
