VFW Scholarship

  L ast week, the representative from the Carthage VFW Post 5117 visited the school to discuss the opportunity for students from grades 6-7-8 to apply for a unique opportunity to win a scholarship called the Patriot Pen.  It is an annual scholarship and it is a great opportunity to earn some extra money.  The VFW would like to give $25 for every valid submission.  They review and choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place . . .

School Safety Drills

As part of our school ·safety plan, faculty and staff have been trained in various drills. These include fire drills, tornado drills, bus safety, lockdown procedures, and active shooters. These drills are required by state law. Bus Safety at LaHarpe

Students at LaHarpe Elementary and Junior High School completed their bus safety lesson with Principal Ryner today. The students met with Mrs. Ryner by class and listened to bus safety information, and could ask questions or offer comments throughout the lesson.  They were reminded how to properly navigate around a bus when loading, and exiting.  They were also reminded how to properly sit in their seats, . . .
